At POEMS, we believe that the finest tea is never the result of a single hand. It is a shared effort from the respectable farmers to the master potters around Japan, to our small team here in Sydney who carefully curates every collections.

We founded POEMS to bridge the gap between ancient craftsmanship and the modern ritual of tea. Everything we offer is a collaboration of passion and heritage. When you sip a cup of our tea, you are experiencing the collective work of a community dedicated to the art of living well.

From Nature to Cup

We travel regularly to Japan to visit the small, independent farms where our tea begins. By working directly with farmers and master tea makers, we select leaves that represent the top 1% of Japanese agriculture: organic, pesticide-free & sustainably grown.

Our partnerships extend beyond the leaf to artisan potters and tea connoisseurs, allowing us to curate a collection full of character and heritage. We bring the essence of Japanese craftsmanship to Australia, ensuring every cup honours tradition with exceptional quality.

Most matcha is mass-produced. Ours is crafted for the few. Rooted in Uji’s 800-year heritage, our matcha comes from a 4th-generation family farm dedicated to 100% Organic farming. So interesting and unusual being a roasted green tea but not as caramel/cacao as a Hojicha.

Came across Poems at our local market and met these lovely tea enthusiasts who introduced me to sipping Matsu matcha straight (I usually have mine with milk!). As promised, the chocolate notes really came through and lingered with a creamy finish. Super enjoyable!

Tried all 3 matcha powder.
Matsu surprised me with a smooth, creamy texture and a subtle milk chocolate note. There’s a nice balance of umami and a gentle sweetness that makes it really enjoyable. It works beautifully on its own as Usucha, but shines even better in lattes. The creaminess and chocolate-like depth really come through.
