ANZU - Certified Organic Single Cultivar Black Tea
Single Cultivar (Minamisayaka) | Certified Organic | Floral & Smooth
A unique organic Japanese black tea (Wakoucha 和紅茶) crafted with oolong-inspired techniques in Miyazaki, Japan.
ANZU is a rare style of Japanese black tea known for its naturally sweet flavour, soft tannins, and refined floral aromatics. Carefully cultivated in the mountains of Miyazaki and processed in small batches, this tea offers a lighter, more elegant expression compared to traditional black teas such as Assam or Ceylon.
Using slow withering and gentle oxidation inspired by traditional oolong tea craftsmanship, ANZU develops layered notes of wildflower honey, white florals, apricot, and dried stone fruit with a silky, smooth finish.

What Makes ANZU So Unique?
Unlike stronger black teas from India or Sri Lanka, Japanese Wakoucha is typically softer, smoother, and more aromatic due to Japan’s climate, tea cultivars, and gentler processing methods.
ANZU is crafted using an oolong-inspired approach:
- slow withering
- gentle leaf bruising
- careful staged oxidation
This technique preserves floral complexity while enhancing natural sweetness and texture.
The result is a refined black tea with exceptional balance, low astringency, and lingering sweetness.

HOW TO ENJOY IT?
HOW TO ENJOY IT?
Unlike the usual black tea that you have to add milk & sugar to cover the bitterness, Japanese Black Tea is famous for its mild flavour and naturally sweet nature. We recommend best taste it straight just like how you would taste a green tea!
- Heat Water: Heat up filtered water, cool it down using a water cooler to 80-85°C (Using water that is too hot will make the tea bitter)
- Measure Tea: Add 3-5g (approx. 1-2 teaspoon) of tea leaves per 200-250ml of water to your teapot
- Steep: Steep for around 30 sec for the 1st infusion. For subsequent infusions, extend the time to 1-2 minutes
- Pour: Pour the tea into your cup (or back to the water cooler), make sure to get every last drop to prevent the leaves from over-steeping.
- Enjoy: This tea pairs beautifully with desserts or on its own
STORAGE TIPS
STORAGE TIPS
To keep your tea leaves fresh, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture and odours. Ensure the bag is tightly sealed, and gently press out as much air as possible before closing it

It's floral and sweet, such a delicate taste unlike any black tea I had before
