MATSU: The Gold Standard of Organic Uji Matcha
Single Cultivar (Saemidori) | Certified Organic | Best-Seller
MATSU is our most-loved ceremonial grade matcha for a reason. Crafted from 100% Saemidori, a cultivar literally translated as "clear green", it is prized for its bright green colour and incredibly mellow profile. Like KIRI, it belongs to the rare 1% of Uji matcha that is JAS Organic certified, proving that you don't have to sacrifice taste for purity.
Why MATSU is a Best-Seller
- The Saemidori Cultivar: Known as a "connoisseur's cultivar," Saemidori is naturally sweet & low in bitterness. MATSU delivers a creamy, rounded umami with signature notes of toasted nuts and a hint of chocolate
- Vibrant 1st Flush Quality: We use only the first spring harvest. These young, shade-grown leaves are bursting with L-theanine, providing a "calm-alert" energy without the jittery crash of coffee
- Certified Organic (JAS): Grown without synthetic chemicals, MATSU offers a "clean" taste that reflects the pristine environment of the Wazuka valleys
- Traditional Stone-Milling: Slowly ground on granite at just 30g per hour. This ancient method prevents heat friction, preserving the tea's delicate antioxidants and silky texture
Our Freshness Guarantee: To protect its brilliant hue and delicate aroma, MATSU is stone-milled in small batches and sealed immediately on-site in airtight tins.

STORAGE TIPS
STORAGE TIPS
To preserve matcha’s vibrant color and flavour, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For optimal quality, enjoy within 1-2 months of opening since colour and aroma naturally fade over time. Refrigeration is not recommended as odours and condensation can compromise quality. A stable, dry environment is the best way to keep your matcha fresh

Thanks for the demonstration and showing me how to find my golden ratio. It’s a next level experience and is fun! Look forward to seeing you again in the markets =)
Came across Poems at our local market and met these lovely tea enthusiasts who introduced me to sipping Matsu matcha straight (I usually have mine with milk!). As promised, the chocolate notes really came through and lingered with a creamy finish. Super enjoyable!
Tried all 3 matcha powder.
Matsu surprised me with a smooth, creamy texture and a subtle milk chocolate note. There’s a nice balance of umami and a gentle sweetness that makes it really enjoyable. It works beautifully on its own as Usucha, but shines even better in lattes. The creaminess and chocolate-like depth really come through.
