2025 HARVEST IS HERE!
Experience the elegance of MATSU, a premium organic ceremonial grade matcha powder crafted from 100% first flush Saemidori Tencha. Cultivated in Kyoto, the heart of Uji matcha production, our tea is lovingly grown by a 4th-generation family farm using traditional, chemical-free methods. We select only the finest spring leaves, which are stone-milled onsite at a slow pace of just 30g per hour. This meticulous process preserves the matcha's vibrant colour, delicate aroma, and ultra-fine texture, giving you an unparalleled experience of silky texture and gentle natural sweetness.
We work with a 4th-generation family farm in Kyoto that specializes in Uji matcha. This small-batch production ensures authentic origin and unparalleled quality in every single tin.
Why MATSU is your Right Choice?
- Premium Saemidori Cultivar: Saemidori is one of Japan's most sought-after cultivars, for its naturally vibrant colour and uniquely refined, gentle taste. This ensures a clean, smooth cup without bitterness
- First Flush Quality: Our tea is harvested exclusively in the spring during the first flush. This is when the young leaves are at their peak, offering maximum flavour, nutrient density, and a level of freshness you can truly taste
- Slow Stone-Milled: The traditional stone-milling process, done at a slow pace, is a craft that preserves the matcha’s vivid colour, delicate aroma, and its incredibly ultra-fine texture for a perfect foam every time
- Certified Organic: MATSU is certified organic under Japanese Agricultural Standards (JAS), which is only 1% of Uji production. It's a clean, pure experience from farm to cup

HOW TO ENJOY IT?
Prepare it as traditional Usucha (Thin tea) or use it to create elevated matcha lattes. Here’s a simple guide for a perfect bowl of Usucha.
- Sift the Matcha: Sift 2g (about 1 teaspoons) of MATSU matcha powder into your chawan (matcha bowl)
- Add Water: Heat about 70ml of filtered water, then cool it down to 70-80°C (160-175°F) and add it to the bowl
- Whisk: Using a bamboo whisk (chasen), whisk the matcha in a quick "W" or "M" motion until a smooth, frothy foam forms on the surface.
- Enjoy: Sip and enjoy the elegant, calm energy lift
STORAGE TIPS
STORAGE TIPS
To preserve matcha’s vibrant color and flavour, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For optimal quality, enjoy within 1-2 months of opening since colour and aroma naturally fade over time. Refrigeration is not recommended as odours and condensation can compromise quality. A stable, dry environment is the best way to keep your matcha fresh

Came across Poems at our local market and met these lovely tea enthusiasts who introduced me to sipping Matsu matcha straight (I usually have mine with milk!). As promised, the chocolate notes really came through and lingered with a creamy finish. Super enjoyable!
Tried all 3 matcha powder.
Matsu surprised me with a smooth, creamy texture and a subtle milk chocolate note. There’s a nice balance of umami and a gentle sweetness that makes it really enjoyable. It works beautifully on its own as Usucha, but shines even better in lattes. The creaminess and chocolate-like depth really come through.
