When people think of matcha, they think of Uji Matcha (宇治抹茶), the name synonymous with Japan’s finest. But few realise how rare it truly is. Only about 18% of the world’s matcha is actually made in Japan. Just 4% originates from Kyoto, and less than 1% is certified organic.

Our matcha belongs to that rare 1%.

At POEMS Tea Atelier, we work directly with a 4th generation family farm in Kyoto, the birthplace of Uji Matcha. Grown organically and crafted from the 1st flush of Tencha leaves, our matcha is the purest form of Matcha.
