Handcrafted by master potter Kiyoshi Kato (加藤喜代司) in Shigaraki, one of Japan’s revered Six Ancient Kilns, this spouted matcha bowl (katakuchi) is a beautiful expression of slow, deliberate craftsmanship. True to the deep heritage of Shigaraki ceramics, it celebrates the earthy textures of natural clay, grounding your daily tea ritual in authenticity and quiet warmth.

The NEZUMI chawan features a highly tactile, mineral-rich body, beautifully contrasted by a thick, expressive sweep of snowy-white glaze. This dynamic, organic brushstroke travels across the textured clay like a quiet winter landscape. Beyond its striking rustic elegance, the purposeful pouring spout makes it an incredibly versatile piece for your tea table. It allows your chasen ample room to build a rich froth, while the spout ensures a perfect, controlled pour, which is ideal for sharing your matcha with a guest or crafting an elegant latte.
