Crafted in the walk-in kilns of Shigaraki, RAKU CHAWAN embodies the rustic beauty and earthy elegance the region is known for. Its warm, burnished glaze reveals subtle gradients of amber, bronze, and charcoal, reminiscent of aged copper and fire-kissed clay. The natural ash glazing and gentle spiral ridges inside reflect traditional hand-throwing techniques, making each piece entirely one of a kind.
The wide, open shape is ideal for whisking matcha, offering both visual warmth and tactile comfort in your hands. Whether part of your tea ritual or a statement piece on the shelf, this bowl carries the quiet strength of centuries-old craftsmanship.
Each piece is individually handmade, slight variations in colour, shape, and texture reflect its artisanal character.

How to Care for Your Matcha Bowl
How to Care for Your Matcha Bowl
Always wash your Matcha Bowl with water only. Detergent might be absorbed by ceramic which can affect tea flavour.
Dish washer is not recommended, hand-washing is the best to clean a matcha bowl.
