KOHAKU Chawan captures the warmth of amber glazes and richly expressive layers of iron-rich flowing glaze patterns that tell a story of fire, clay, and craft.
Hand-thrown in Seto, a region with over 1,300 years of ceramic tradition, this matcha bowl blends rustic charm with deep refinement.
This Chawan is in half-cylindrical shape, meaning it has a half-cylindrical shape with straight sides and a flat bottom. Its round, tactile form rests comfortably in the hand, ideal for daily matcha rituals. The unique glaze variation ensures no two bowls are exactly alike, each one a small, functional work of art that invites quiet reflection with every sip.
Each piece is individually handmade, slight variations in colour, shape, and texture reflect its artisanal character.
