KIRI: The Rare 1% of Organic Ceremonial Grade Uji Matcha
Single Cultivar (Okumidori) | Certified Organic | 1st Flush
KIRI is the pinnacle of Ceremonial Grade Matcha craft. While less than 1% of Uji’s matcha achieves JAS organic certification, KIRI goes further: offering a Single Cultivar (Okumidori) experience. Cultivated in the misty highlands of Wazuka, it is a serene, silky-smooth masterpiece defined by deep umami and zero bitterness.
Why KIRI is Exceptional
- Single Cultivar: Just as a fine wine is defined by its grape, KIRI is defined by the 100% Okumidori cultivar. Think of it as a rare, refined varietal prized for its deep emerald brilliance and signature balance of sweetness and umami
- Certified Organic (JAS): Grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. KIRI offers the peace of mind of organic purity without the "grassy" bitterness often found in lower-grade organic teas
- Traditional Stone-Milling: To preserve its delicate antioxidants and vibrant hue, the Tencha is ground on granite mills at a meditative pace of just 30g per hour.
- 1st Flush Spring Harvest: Only the youngest, nutrient-dense leaves from the first spring picking are used, ensuring maximum L-theanine for a calm, sustained energy
Freshness Note: Every tin is sealed immediately after milling in Kyoto to lock in the "living" energy and vibrant aroma of the leaf.

The Hands Behind the Harvest
Every tin in our collection begins in the mist-covered hills of Wazuka, Uji. We partner exclusively with a 4th generation family estate that treats tea as a living heritage.
Crafted with Integrity:
- Shade-Grown: Plants are shaded for 21 days before harvest to maximize L-theanine and sweetness
- Chemical-Free: Whether JAS-certified or not, our farm follows strict organic protocols, rejecting synthetic pesticides to protect the soil and the soul of the tea
- Slow-Milled: Our leaves are stone-ground at a meditative 30g per hour to preserve the delicate aromas

STORAGE TIPS
STORAGE TIPS
To preserve matcha’s vibrant color and flavour, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For optimal quality, enjoy within 1-2 months of opening since colour and aroma naturally fade over time. Refrigeration is not recommended as odours and condensation can compromise quality. A stable, dry environment is the best way to keep your matcha fresh

Very very delicate and smooth. Beautiful colour. Definitely will be part of my collection. Not bitter at all.
Amazing amazing
The KIRI ceremonial grade matcha is quite something else!! It’s way smoother and more complex than any I’ve had before — no bitterness, and just layers of flavour that really linger. I can tell they’ve put real care into choosing the tea, and it completely changes what you think matcha should taste like.
If you’ve ever been curious about matcha or think it’s “not your thing,” this place will change your mind. 100% worth trying!!!
