Premium CEREMONIAL MATCHA - Stone-milled from 1st flush Okumidori Cultivar
Discover the matcha we’re proud of - KIRI, our flagship organic ceremonial grade matcha powder. Stone-milled in small batches from 100% 1st flush Okumidori Tencha leaves, this matcha is a vibrant green with a distinctly delicate and refined flavor. Cultivated in Kyoto, the heart of Uji matcha production, KIRI is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship and centuries-old tradition that result in a truly exceptional tea.
The Craftsmanship Behind KIRI
KIRI is lovingly cultivated by a 4th-generation family farm that uses traditional, chemical-free methods. To naturally boost amino acids like L-theanine and enhance both sweetness and umami, the tea plants are shade-grown for 3 weeks before harvest. Immediately after picking, the leaves are carefully steamed, dried, and sorted into tencha, the raw material for matcha. KIRI is then stone-milled onsite at a slow pace of just 30g per hour, preserving every nuance of flavour before being sealed in airtight tins for ultimate freshness.
WHY CHOOSE KIRI?
- Single Cultivar Excellence: Okumidori is highly prized for its vivid colour, creamy texture, and uniquely refined flavour profile. This cultivar ensures a smooth, non-bitter cup that is perfect for pure enjoyment
- First Flush Quality: Harvested only once a year in the spring during the first flush. This is when the young leaves are at their peak, offering maximum sweetness, nutrients, and depth of flavour that can only be found in a premium, early-season tea
- Slow Stone-Milled: The slow, traditional grinding process protects the delicate aromas, vibrant colour, and fine texture of the matcha. This is a crucial step that distinguishes ceremonial grade matcha from other teas and results in an incredibly smooth mouthfeel and rich flavour
- Organic & Sustainable: Certified organic under Japanese Agricultural Standards (JAS), which is only 1% of Uji production. It guarantees it is grown without synthetic pesticides or additives. This commitment to organic and sustainable practices ensures a pure product that is better for you and the environment

Ceremonial grade matcha is traditionally enjoyed plain to savour its nuanced flavours. Prepare it as Usucha (Thin Tea) in a matcha bowl and appreciate its vibrant colour, aroma, and the meditative aspect of the preparation.
- Sift the Matcha: Sift 2g (about 1 teaspoon) of KIRI matcha powder into your chawan (matcha bowl)
- Add Water: Heat about 70ml of filtered water, then cool it down to 70-80°C (160-175°F) and add it to the bowl
- Whisk: Using a chasen (bamboo whisk), whisk the matcha for about 15-20 seconds until a smooth, frothy foam forms on the surface
- Enjoy: Sip and enjoy the pure, nuanced flavours of the tea
STORAGE TIPS
STORAGE TIPS
To preserve matcha’s vibrant color and flavour, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For optimal quality, enjoy within 1-2 months of opening since colour and aroma naturally fade over time. Refrigeration is not recommended as odours and condensation can compromise quality. A stable, dry environment is the best way to keep your matcha fresh

Very very delicate and smooth. Beautiful colour. Definitely will be part of my collection. Not bitter at all.
Amazing amazing
The KIRI ceremonial grade matcha is quite something else!! It’s way smoother and more complex than any I’ve had before — no bitterness, and just layers of flavour that really linger. I can tell they’ve put real care into choosing the tea, and it completely changes what you think matcha should taste like.
If you’ve ever been curious about matcha or think it’s “not your thing,” this place will change your mind. 100% worth trying!!!
