Hojicha is made from roasted tea leaves, offering a unique flavour and aroma distinct from other green teas. It is toasty, nutty, and slightly sweet, with a comforting aroma reminiscent of roasted grains or chocolate.
Unlike most Hojicha powders in the market which use lower grade of tea leaves, KAEDA Hojicha is made by roasted Tencha leaves, the same shade-grown leaves used to make matcha. Once roasted, the leaves are finely ground into powder, using a process similar to matcha production.
The roasting process transforms the grassy notes of green tea into a rich, toasty profile that’s mellow yet deeply satisfying, a signature of premium-grade hojicha.
Lovingly grown by a 4th-generation family farm in Wazuka, Kyoto, the heart of Uji matcha. KAEDA is crafted in small batches, roasted, milled, and packed on-site to preserve maximum freshness and aroma.
KAEDA is entirely free from pesticides, additives, preservatives, and artificial colours, just clean, honest hojicha at its finest.

Storage Tips
Storage Tips
To preserve matcha’s vibrant color and flavor, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For optimal quality, enjoy within 1-2 months of opening since color and aroma naturally fade over time. Refrigeration is not recommended as odors and condensation can compromise quality. A stable, dry environment is the best way to keep your matcha fresh.
