Japanese kyusu (急須) from Tokoname.
It is with a classic side-handle design, perfect for brewing loose-leaf teas like Sencha. Its matte black finish and textured horizontal lines give it a contemporary yet subtle aesthetic. The compact spout and ergonomic handle ensure precise pouring, while the balanced design makes it easy to handle.
Tea strainer inside the teapot is also made from the same clay. Crafted for both functionality and elegance, it’s a versatile piece that complements both traditional and modern tea rituals.
Tokoname has a pottery tradition dating back over 800 years to the Kamakura Period. It is one of Japan's six ancient kiln sites, known for its high-quality clay and unique craftsmanship.
Variations in size, glaze, colour, and texture are natural characteristics that highlight the unique, handcrafted nature of each piece.

How to Care for Your Teapot
How to Care for Your Teapot
To keep your teapot in great shape, wash it with water only - no detergent! Ceramic teapots absorb residues, which can affect tea flavour.
Remove tea leaves once cooled and give the teapot a quick rinse to avoid stains. Turn it upside down to dry faster and prevent mold.
Skip the dishwasher - handwashing is the best way to preserve its beauty and functionality.
