HOKAGE (火影, “Firelight”) teacup is a raw, tactile connection to Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns. Crafted in the legendary pottery town of Bizen, this unglazed Yunomi bears the literal shadows of the fire that birthed it. With no glaze to hide behind, the high-iron clay reveals a breathtaking, organic landscape of ash and flame, a one-of-a-kind "scenery" that can never be replicated.

The Bizen Experience:

Holding a Bizen teacup is a fundamentally different experience from holding porcelain. It is heavy, grounded, and feels like a warm river stone in the palm.

  • The Flavour Alchemist: Bizen clay is famous among tea connoisseurs for its microscopic porosity and high iron content. Pouring your daily Sencha or Hojicha into the HOKAGE cup actually mellows the water and reduces astringency, resulting in a smoother & rounded sip
  • The "Firelight" Keshiki (Scenery): The striking gradients of burnt sienna, charcoal, and scarlet on this cup are the direct result of the 10-to-14-day wood-firing process. You are holding the exact path the fire took through the kiln
  • Yōhen no Bi (The Beauty of Aging): This cup is alive. Because it is unglazed, it will absorb the rich tones of your tea & the touch of your hands. With daily use, the matte clay will slowly develop a deep yet warm & natural glow, growing more beautiful and personal as the years pass
  • Intimate Design: Crafted specifically for the daily ritual, the slightly textured surface provides a secure, comforting grip, inviting you to slow down and feel the warmth of the tea radiating through the earth
