Handcrafted in Bizen, Okayama, one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns (Rokkoyō). HOKAGE teacup embodies the raw beauty of fire and clay. Made without glaze, its surface is shaped entirely by the alchemy of flame, ash, and time in a traditional wood-fired kiln.
The name Hokage (火影, “Flame’s Shadow”) reflects the subtle gradations of reddish-brown and smoky grey across the cup, created by natural kiln effects. Each firing leaves behind unique, unrepeatable patterns, making every piece one of a kind.
The iron-rich Bizen clay gives the teacup a grounding weight and a warm, earthy presence in the hand. Its slightly flared lip and balanced foot offer both elegance and comfort, enhancing the mindful act of sipping tea slowly and with intention.
