Few ceramic traditions are as deeply connected to Japanese tea culture as Raku ware. Hand-shaped and fired at low temperatures, each bowl is created to be held, admired and enjoyed as part of the tea ceremony.

This Aka Raku (赤楽) chawan is handcrafted by Sasaki Shoraku (佐々木松楽), a respected Kyoto kiln dedicated to preserving the centuries-old Raku tradition. Its warm iron-red glaze reveals subtle variations in tone, delicate crackles and natural darkened areas created during firing. Every mark is unique, making each bowl a singular expression of clay, fire and the artisan's hand.
